Overview
Bawaka Experience is a fully Aboriginal owned and operated business. Bawaka homeland is home to the Burarrwanga family who specialise in Yolŋu cultural awareness and immersion experiences for tourists and corporate groups. On arrival to Bawaka you will take part in a traditional welcome to Country ceremony before Your guide will tell you about how Yolŋu gathered bush foods, and about traditional remedies or craft materials depending on the seasons and the make up of the group. Experience traditional spear fishing and crab hunting. Learn about Moiety – Yirratja and Dhuwa (Kinship) and how this connects us to the land and to each other, one big Earth balanced. Hear about our seven seasons and see what the environment is telling us.
