Please remember to be respectful of the region’s natural environment, native animals and other visitors and control your pet at all times. The Nhulunbuy Walk Trail Network around Nhulunbuy township welcomes pets, with areas where they are permitted to be off the leash marked on the trail.

Dogs are welcome at the many campgrounds managed by Dhimurru Aboriginal Corporation and the Cato River Recreational Area.

Nhulunbuy Paws is a volunteer led organisation in Nhulunbuy providing rehoming of animals, dog boarding and dog washing services. The dog wash is held on most Saturday mornings from 9am to 12pm and is a great place for your pooch to socialise and have some fun.
